Title of Position: Manager, Applications & Business Development
Location: Bangalore, India
Area of responsibility: Southern India
The candidate for this position is responsible to provide application support to the NTS division in the south Zone of India and to handle the business development activities for various products of NTS. He is also responsible for providing training and technical information to customers and sales personnel for the given set of products of the division.
Key responsibilities to include (but not limited to):-
- To assume direct Business Development responsibility for the assigned region.
- To be completely familiar with the customer base in the assigned region and to establish a high level of interaction and good & lasting relationships with these customers.
- Providing technical clarifications on the products
- Providing applications support to products directly and to support with technical information
- Developing technical write-ups, comparisons and product support presentations.
- To maintain direct contact with important customers in the region. To accompany field sales on sales calls on a routine basis from time to time, within the assigned territory (and outside as and when required, by instructions from the management.)
- To assist field sales in the assigned region with their ongoing marketing needs, pricing, sales strategies, product / application information etc.
- To discuss the needs of the field sales with the responsible Division Manager, to acquire and disseminate all relevant product update / application information / competitive information / product comparison etc. to concerned persons promptly.
- To supervise and coordinate the preparation major tenders / projects in the region.
- To impart on the job product / application training to sales staff in the assigned region on an ongoing basis on the various products of the company.
- To take full responsibility for local events, i.e., in the organization of sales / product meetings, training being conducted by the Division / Company.
- To be involved fully (together with the Division Manager responsible) in all aspects of planning and execution and review of marketing and promotional activities such as exhibitions, workshops, seminars product launches demo’s etc. in the region. These duties include short-listing of exhibitions / meetings for our participation, determining the extent of our participation, finalizing the list of exhibits and other requirements such as exhibit space, ensuring availability of adequate promotion material, customer lead forms, utilities, furniture, décor amongst others.
- To assist the Division Manager in devising and formulating sales strategies / planning and implementing market introductions for new products.
- To be responsible (together with the Division Manager) for key account management in the assigned region.
- To assist the Division Manager in the preparation, planning of budget, forecasts etc for the assigned region.
Minimum requirements:
- An Engineering (Electronics/Instrumentation)/Science Graduate.
- A minimum of 5 - 10 years of Application & Sales experience in the field of electron microscopy.
- Good Communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact effectively with customers.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility & accountability. A self-starter.
- Willingness to travel extensively and customer oriented.
