Overview
AxioVision Release 4.2
The New AxioVision Release 4.2 comes with new modules and many improvements.

Carl Zeiss strengthens its portfolio of microscopy imaging software AxioVision, with the addition of Widefield Multichannel Unmixing module. Having been successful in confocal microscopy, Zeiss is the first to introduce this technique in widefield microscopy. An extremely useful tool, widefield multichannel unmixing eliminates the problem of cross talk between fluorescence dyes and thus provide cross talk corrected images for reliable colocalisation inferences.

Cross talk occurs when more than one dye with overlapping spectra are use for labeling and the excitation and emission filters have wide bandwidth. In such a situation, signals from one dye could "bleed through" into the emission filter of other dye.

Widefield Multichannel Unmixing make use of reference sample (single channel) to make unmixing matrix and use this matrix in a computational algorithm to spectrally unmix the images. Should reference samples be unavailable, Automatic Component Extraction can be used to generate an unmixing matrix from multichannel images.
