L V Prasad Eye Institute is a non-profit organization that aims to combat eye disease through a comprehensive approach to eye care delivery. The institute's mission is to provide excellent, efficient and equitable eye care to all, irrespective of the ability to pay. Over the past 14 years, the institute has served more than 1.4 million out-patients and performed over 140 000 surgical procedures successfully.
Carl Zeiss, an organization of more than 160 years has its global headquarters in Germany. With a deep involvement in the field of ophthalmology, Carl Zeiss helps doctor provide quality eye care to their patients through a wide range of diagnostic and surgical technologies. Collaborating with thought leaders and major research centers around the world in the development of new cutting edge technologies, Carl Zeiss is engaged in many educational initiatives across the world because of her commitment to improving healthcare in the developing world.
Carl Zeiss is proud to be associated with L V Prasad Eye Institute for the establishment of the LVP - Carl Zeiss Academy for Advanced Ophthalmic Education.
The common objective of this initiative is to elevate the standards of ophthalmic care in India and the region through continuing medical education.
There are 3 major goals the LVP - Carl Zeiss Academy would like to achieve:
- Training in appropriate handling of patients during evaluation and the nuances of patient case delivery.
- Improving skills in basic diagnostic evaluation using the state of the art equipment and care of such equipment.
- Imparting skills in conducting and interpreting advanced diagnostic tests.
