Fellowship in Hand Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery

Carl Zeiss is proud to have joined hands with Ganga Hospital to institute a Fellowship for trainees and junior plastic surgeons interested in this field of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery.

The common objective of this initiative is to try and "save a limb" and improve the quality of life of patients. The Fellowship will also provide an opportunity for young and talented plastic and hand surgeons to travel and acquire further experience in the field.

Value of the Fellowship
Carl Zeiss India will provide funding which should cover the cost of travel and all other incidental expenses of the selected Fellow.

Who is eligible?
Any surgeon who has a keen interest in Hand Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery is eligible. Ganga Hospital has a busy orthopaedic unit and the plastic surgery unit is involved in many lower limb reconstructive following trauma. The Fellowship would provide an opportunity to participate in many major lower limb reconstructions. Hence, candidates with plastic surgical experience would find it more useful. Candidates must possess a magnifying loupe for their use and be comfortable using it.

Timing of Fellowship
The Fellowship could be available between January to March every year. The last date of application would be 15 October of every year. The first Fellowship would be available in 2003 and applications are invited for the same.
